This term our topic is Make it work.Miss taylor split us into five groups and in my group there was Chloe, Aidan and Brodie also me of course. Our first challenge was MARSHMALLOW TOWER! I was exited but I was wondering what the materials would be? When I found out what the materials were I was really surprised these were the materials : marshmallows and surprisingly SPAGETTI! I mean I should of been some toothpicks skewers or anything alike that's not food. But we just had to deal with it. So we just carried on. First we made our own group name our is... The Potato Heads and then wee had to make a plan and we did and then we put it into action it didn't work so well. So then we copied the group beside us called WASABI but it was only part of the base. And we all had to work together so we tried to include everyone's ideas but if they weren't good ideas we didn't do them. In the end we came 2nd and we got three points but we only lost by EIGHT CENTERMETRES! It's not fair but we just took it as something we could work on together as a team to win. We did 3 more challenges and we came : 2nd, 0 {nobody won or lost it} and FIRST! So at the moment we are winning because we got 11 points and the only 2 teams that could catch up is THE FURIOUS 4 and the LIGHTNING BOLTS and there are a tie with 5 points each. So I think we are going to win for topic. GO POTATO HEADS! On Thursday the 31st of July Joseph Sullivan came to our school and spoke to us about his rowing experience. I think some of us dosed off a little bit though. Well I found It interesting anyway :). And after the Arrowsmith syndicate had Winter Sports Tourtanent practice all of the sport teams got to hold Joseph Sullivans GOLD medal and they also got a photo and in the Rugby Matthew a year 5 got to hop onto Joseph's shoulder and the photo looked weird. All in all the day was pretty good and I enjoyed meeting Joseph. |
