We used some of the great action photos from camp to create some art. We chose a photo with ourselves in it and then cut around our bodies. We then drew in the background with pencil and outlined it in vivid. Lastly we used water colour paints to colour the background. Come into our classroom to see theses awesome masterpieces! Today we learned that observational drawing means to look at something very closely and notice all the details. It means to draw everything we can see, not what we think something looks like. Today we practiced looking at scissors and drawing exactly what we saw. We tried to add as much detail as possible... What do you think of our drawings? Today we had a go using the charcoal pencils to show light on shoes. We are going to be doing some observational drawings over the next week and today was a practice with the pencils. We looked at some photos of shoe pencil drawings online and used them for inspiration... For a first go, we were actually pretty good! In weeks two and three we made self portraits to go on the back wall of the classroom. Miss Taylor printed mug shots of us using an online tool called 'Rasterbator'. It prints your photos out enlarged on sheets of A4. We then used different media to colour each square of our photo. Each portrait has a square completed using the following techniques:
- Water colour paints - Pastal - Magazine collage - Acrylic paint We then tried to match our faces up. Some of them were missing eyes and parts of our mouths and noses! Come into the classroom and check out the back wall to see our finished artworks! |
