Miss Taylor went to Queenstown in the weekend. BRRRRRR! It was freezing!
Excitedly we gazed out of the classroom window as it started to snow heavily. All of the pavements started to disappear before our eyes. "Pleeeeeease, can we go outside Miss Taylor?!" Jack Soal came in to inform us that school was closed for the day. Wahoo!! Arrowsmith have started swimming at the Community Pool in the afternoons. We will be swimming this week and next week. Check out some of the photos from the last couple of days! We have had our new iPad for a whole Term now. Miss Taylor went through some of the photos students have been taking during their free time. Can you recognise any Harakeke students? Today we were lucky enough to have some members from the Mid-Canterbury hockey association come to Tinwald School to teach us some hockey skills. This is perfect timing as we have the winter tournament coming up at the end of this term. This week we started the Fonterra 'Milk in Schools' programme. We have learned about who Fonterra are, what they are doing and how the milk programme works. We watched some short video clips about things we need to know and then we had a close up look at our new fridge, the boxes of milk and the recycling bins that are all part of the programme. Each day we are given the choice to drink milk. After finishing our milk we have to fold the cartons and deposit them in the big blue recycling bins Fonterra have provided us. To find out more check out the Fonterra website: https://www.fonterramilkforschools.com/ Drink it dry, fold it flat, send it back! |
